Because neither the Old English Sheepdog or Poodle shed, Sheepadoodles are low to non shedding. The coat types range from straight / loose wave, wavy, to curly. Sheepadoodles are lean in appearance and often seem much larger than they are due to their luxurious coats.
A Sheepadoodle is a cross between an Old English Sheepdog and a Poodle. Sheepadoodles are known for their playful, outgoing, and loving demeanor. Just like the Old English Sheepdog and Poodle, they are very smart and trainable. With their adorable looks and great dispositions, these dogs make excellent companions!
Sheepadoodles are very people oriented and affectionate dogs.
What is a Mini or micro Sheepadoodle?
Color
Sheepadoodles come in three different size ranges depending on the size of the parent dogs.
Micro: 10-20 lbs
Mini: 25 – 45 lbs (sometimes minis will mature larger or smaller)
Standard: 50+ lbs
Once Upon A Doodle specializes mini and micro Sheepadoodles. Because mature size is so hard to tell in puppies, I will estimate but no size is guaranteed.
Sheepadoodles are known for the “Panda bear” look because they often have a black back with one or both eyes covered with a black eye patch. Frequently, the black will fade to gray or gray and white, similar to the Old English Sheepdog.
There is a wide array of markings that the Sheepadoodles come in. Some of the other rare colors that are not commonly seen in Sheepadoodles are sable, brindle, merle, chocolate, cream, and phantom.
Mini and Micro Sheepadoodles are incredible family dogs and companions. They are social, affectionate, trainable, and loyal. One of the best things about the Mini and Micro Sheepadoodles is their activity and energy level. Mini and Micro Sheepadoodles love to play, go on adventures, and live an active lifestyle. However, they are also mellow, cuddly, and couch potatoes.
